I'm not a purist, so I think that revamping vintage clothes is not a crime, particularly if it needs alterations to fit my shape anyway!. This red dress is a good candidate to be totally revamped, as it's really unflattering on me, but its fabric and color are lovely. Now I have to choose a beautiful pattern and find a moment to sit at the sewing machine!
Joining Visible Monday and wishing you a visible and fabulous week!

Those 80s dresses look fantastic on you, you've dressed them so they're super cool rather than Princess Di-style. xxx
ResponderEliminarLove the way you combined those 80s dresses, especially the first one with those citrussy touches of orange and yellow, and that necklace is super, just my kind of thing. That second dress looks fantastic on you, and I very much love its print. I'm in awe of your way with colour, Monica! Besos xxx
ResponderEliminarLove that colour on you!
ResponderEliminarI recently got a shock when River Island started selling things I owned as a young adult in their Chelsea Girl retro section (they re-release 60s, 70s... and now 80s and 90s designs). I should have kept it. I've no shame about wearing stuff I wore the first time round so to speak!
Such wonderful colours! I love the second dress as it is; I think wrap dresses can be flattering on fuller figured women such as ourselves. I will be so interested to see what you do with the red dress but you have added such wonderful accessories - tights/shoes/cardigans/belts/jewellery they already look so stylish.
ResponderEliminarI, too , am astonished that the 80s is considered vintage...

I love how you belted the one dress. I've been doing that with some of those 80's dresses too.
ResponderEliminarI totally agree that up cycling vintage is perfectly wonderful.
I think that second dress is great. Are you still thinking of changing that one?
bisous

You look amazing, looove both of these looks, incredible xxx
ResponderEliminarWOW, you styled both dresses to make them perfectly YOU! Love them on you! At the same time, I can totally relate to what you feel about them not being 'you'. With your skills, I am positive you'll make them your own, you've done it before! Much love!
ResponderEliminarThere are certain 80's pieces I love, along with the bright colours and graphic patterns. I can't believe that it is now classified as "Vintage" too!
