As this week we are in the middle of a heatwave, comfort has been the most important thing, and I also tried to keep it cool (pun intended). I've recently finished some sewing on this dress, which was actually a strapless+backless dress, with just a few strips on the back to keep it in place. I love a maxi dress but the strapless part is not my cup of tea, so I had planned to wear it under an open shirt or jacket. Fortunately, I had to shorten it!. This is not usually good news, but I obtained a 2.5 (6cm) inches strip, which was perfect to create two straps and also that strategically placed back piece. I think it keeps the beachy vibe of a strapless maxi but it makes me feel more comfident and comfortable too (it's a light viscose fabric, so flowy!).
As temperatures are rising up 41ºC (105ºF) (even higher temperatures are forecasted for next days), I'm at home, missing air conditioning, until I feel miserable and then I go to the swimming pool. I'm really boring of this heatwave, but trying to keep my mood up!
Afortunadamente, he tenido que acortarlo!.

More blue color in this week's outfits and more lightweight fabrics!. I don't wear shawls outside (too hot!) but I carry them in my bag to be worn in my air conditioned office.
Me apetecía enseñarlo!

Perfect heatwave attire. Love how you added the straps to the maxi dress and the back is adorable. Stay cool!
ResponderEliminarHolla, I am a new reader. I found your blog at the www and I am in live with your nice coloured style. You look gorgeous in this dress and great you build the straps :) And great you join the slow fashion season. I join too, but I am a little bit a shopaholic and its hard for me. But yes I do! :)
ResponderEliminarWe have a heatwave too in germany and I missed aircondition too. Please stay cool.

First, I just love that first second maxi dress, blue looks lovely on you. I also love the other two outfits, pairing tunics and pants is a great idea for summer.
ResponderEliminarIve been reading all about those horrid temperatures.
ResponderEliminarAll the blue you are wearing must be to visually keep cool.
When we lived in Quebec City and it was insanely hot we would put our PJs in the freezer.

It seems the hot countries are heating up even more in Summer. We rarely headed over 40 in years past. Now it is more common. Yuck!
ResponderEliminarAnd no air conditioning! How can you stand it? With beautiful clothing. Mind you, I am wandering around in shorts and singlets or even crop tops by then. Couldn't do sleeves or a maxi dress with all that fabric touching me! Thank goodness for water. Cool showers and a spray bottle of water can also work wonders I've found. Stay strong!

We are having hot weather here, but not as hot as you're having there. I would not survive the summer without my air conditioning. And still people think Global Warming isn't real??? I'm not a fan of strapless dresses either, so that is a nice fix on the dress.
ResponderEliminarYou are looking fabulous for your heatwave. I absolutely love your refashioned maxi dress, blue and white always looks so crisp and cool even if the temperature is anything but! xxx
ResponderEliminarYour customized dress is wonderful on you! I love how you added straps and extra back coverage on it. Perfect!
