turquoise galore

I've been wearing a lot this pair of pants, they're a wash'n'go dream, versatile and fresh!. They had to be fitted and I removed the pockets, which added bulk, being totally useless. These pants came from the second-hand pile at the sunday flea market, but, for 3€, I was happy to take them home and make a little sewing job on them.
I think that I tried and left them at the store (a year ago?), because of their unflattering shape. I don't care too much about proper fitting when buying second-hand, but I'm quite fussy when I'm paying the whole price at a store!. Does the same thing happen to you? and, Don't you hate useless pockets?
(Linking Visible Monday)

  4. Yes, the same thing for me - if it's not on discount, I am much more picky. Discount gives me more "creativity" in fit. I have never removed useless pocket. Usually I LOVE them, but in some things they are, as you say, useless. Now I shall definitely think about it. Fantastic turquoise and blue outfits!

  7. Joyful!! I think you've done well with your thrifted trousers! I now use the same "rule" for thrifting as for regular shopping - I only buy what I love. Too much stuff otherwise (and I don't seem to be interested in sewing/altering).

Love both outfits, as always whimsical details and lots of fun! I especially love your pins this time, that typewriter is a dream!

  8. I love these blues and turquoise outfits Monica. The trousers look fab - well done you for fixing them. It's great to sort our these little problems which might stop you getting the wear out of them. The turquoise gingham top is adorable and all the more so because you made it. My sewing is pretty basic, but I'm still keen to learn and improve my skills. I recently made some cushion covers for my son and feel pretty pleased with them!

  9. I adore your handmade gingham top! And those super fun brooches. You are so wonderfully creative and it really shows in how you dress.

I'm a freak that LOVES pockets. I often don't take a handbag with me and prefer to use pockets because I have fibromyalgia. So I've added pockets to dresses before. I agree though, on pants they can add bulk.
