I've been wearing my new-to-me shearling coat (a lot) and realized that is actually such an statement piece. The moment I put on it I feel like saying 'Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up'* . It's not that I don't like a classy piece which makes me feel like Madame la Marquise. Actually I do love it, but in my opinion it's asking for some colourfulness and my own ironic twist. I think that (almost) any posh and elegant second-hand piece could find its way into a modern wardrobe. Obviously, it's easier if you're doing a vintage style with lots of attitude, but it's not necessary!. Any style can incorporate a classy second-hand piece as I'm concerned!
Linking Visible Monday and wishing you a visible week!
* one of my favorite quotes from Sunset Boulevard

So true what you say about vintage pieces and your look is the best proof! In fact I think that vintage pieces are such a perfect add to each wardrobe. Today I'm again in love with your look because it is so colourful. Happy Tuesday!

I agree 110%! Vintage goes with everything! I wish more people realized this. The neutral coat is a great canvas for all the colour waiting beneath.

If anyone can add humour, colour and style to a classic coat then it's you! That coat must be an absolute dream to wear, it looks so luxurious and cosy. xxx
ResponderEliminarI love your stylings so much.
ResponderEliminarNormaly I am used to dark winter looks but you combined a cozy and comfy look and yet it's so bright and eyecatchy. Lovely.
And I agree, vintage goes with everything.

I think that wearing a statement piece like that magnificent coat is always a good thing! I like how it pops off your bright clothes - that really shows it off.

Yes, I agree that a good vintage piece blends well with a modern wardrobe. You are certainly proving this with your magnificent coat. No chance of getting cold wearing it either. It looks like heaven to wear it on a cold Winter's day. And wearing it open like you are doing here offsets your turquoise, pink and multi-printed outfit (love that tunic!) perfectly! Besos xxx
ResponderEliminarWell I'm not surprised that tunic was a sudden purchase - it's beautiful! Love your shearling coat and I bet you're lovely and warm in it. Totally agree; vintage items can be worked into any outfit.
