This skirt is one of the first clothes I sew ever, ten years ago, so it has been in my wardrobe since the very beginning of this blog. I've even made a flashback on it. Obviously, an orange skirt can be styled in a limited number of colour combos, but this happens whatever the colour involved. There are some 'safer' combos, which are created around the colours of the print, (black and white, grey) and there are the less obvious ones, with constrasting colours in a similar saturation (purple, red).
Do you prefer some matchiness or more contrast?

Well, the skirt looked fantastic with both colour combinations. I wouldn't have thought about trying red with orange but I will now! I think the darker red top you wore was just right and then you echoed the red again in the sneakers. Black, white and orange is just a totally fabulous mix.
ResponderEliminarHave a good week, too.

Glad you like these colour combos!, red with orange is something new for me too, but I'm quickly becoming a huge fan!

I don't need an excuse to wear orange either and certainly don't think it's a gaudy colour!
ResponderEliminarThat skirt is an absolute stunner and I love both ways you styled it. I love both matchy-matchy and contrasting colours, although there's always at least "secret matching" going on :-) The striped red top with the skirt is a prime example of pattern mixing! Loving that stunning photo at the end of your post! Besos xxx
Great Minds!
EliminarWe do love orange and enjoy some pattern mixing, I've got some great ideas from your inspiring outfits, dear Ann!

I love orange, I've got lots of it in my wardrobe!
ResponderEliminarThat skirt is fantastic, I love it with the stripey tights and teamed with the red topm you're like an explosion in a jewellery box!
That bridge over the water is a beautiful sight! xxx
So lovely that so many of my favourite bloggers love orange!, Great Minds, again!
EliminarLove this expression and love to be like an explosion in a jewellery box!, thanks!

Me encanta tu estilo. Saludos.
Orange is such a great colour any time of year. I love your outfits and stiped tights.
ResponderEliminarTotally agree about Orange!, it's a favourite of mine!
EliminarI rarely wear orange but I like the pattern on your skirt which makes the colour less "Halloween" if worn with black. Orange also looks good with grey and blue too. Halloween is a big deal over here in North America and I decorate my front porch and my desk at work for the month of October. It is my favourite holiday.
ResponderEliminarI think that this skirt has an 'oriental' vibe which makes it more interesting and less Halloween.
EliminarMost children are enthusiastically involved into Halloween, creating decorations and wearing costumes, but not so many adults take part in this celebration. It's not really traditional, so it looks a little bit strained.

Orange is a great colour. I'd wear it with black or green, but I like it in all sorts of combinations - when I think of my favourite bloggers, I can imagine some in particular combos. I can imagine Ann pairinmg it with turquoise, for example.
ResponderEliminarLove orange with green, and I can totally imagine Ann in orange & turquoise rocking it!

I love prints like this - they can be transformed by breaking out of the expected colour combos! Love both outfits!
ResponderEliminarYou're right, dear Sheila, unexpected colour combos are fabulous (you're inspiring!)
