Sewing Projects

These trousers have been my last sewing project, I made them of a massive sarong. I had it since 2018, but I was not making the most of it. I had worn my sarong as a skirt (see here) but it was not versatile enough. So I used my usual pattern for wide legged trousers, made some mistakes, and managed to create a pair of trousers. My only concern is that they create static electricity when worn over tights: it means that they don't layer so nicely as expected!.

- turtleneck, La Redoute (old) / cuello vuelto
- cardi-thing, 4x4 (old) / chaqueta agujereada
- necklace, Dayaday (old) / collar
- scarf, charity shopped / pañuelo, tienda solidaria Cáritas
- boots, DrMartens (old) / botas
- bag, Nonapapallona / bolso
- coat, La Redoute (old) / abrigo
I've shreded this striped shirt and also shreded a piece of striped fabric, to create a crisscross. I was not happy with the fabric, so sprayed some bleach on it before using it.
I've been inspired by the fabulous Spy Girl and also looked at some designer pieces from viktor and rolf 2016. Still working on it, so it's too early to see if it's going to be even wearable (nowadays my shirt looks like an Arkham Asylum resident's pajamas!).

Have a fabulous week!

Espero que tengáis una estupenda semana.

  2. Your newly made trousers are fabulous, even if they won't be perfect for layering due to the static electricity! I'm loving the outfit you created with them. I'm very intrigued by the new piece you're creating. Can't wait to see the end result. The signs of Spring are a veritable sight for sore - and Winter tired - eyes! xxx

the static behavior of the trousers fabric is of cause disturbing - but soon you can skip the tights and you will have faboulous colourful trousers for the spring adventures :-D

  4. Lots of signs of Spring! The new trousers are fab and what a lovely mix of blues and purples you're wearing with them. It's a shame about the static electricity but at least it won't be an issue in the warmer months? I am loving the criss-cross effect of the shirt and strip of material!

  5. Oh, the blossoms are lovely - ours are a few days away from bursting open.

That is too bad about the static with your trousers, but they are fab nonetheless.

  6. I like what you are trying to do with weaving the two different fabrics together in the shirt. It's fun to experiment with fabric even if it doesn't turn out the way you hoped it would. Those new trousers will be great for summer when you don't have to worry about layering them.
