White shirts have never been in my list of essentials. Despite of what magazines and experts like to tell us, style comes in different sizes, colours and shapes, so each person has to find her own wardrobe essentials. Your little black dress can be a pink one (or a purple jumpsuit), your perfect pair of jeans can be jungle print palazzos and your crisp white shirt can be a destroyed and revamped shirt.
This second hand shirt was purchased with the idea of jazzing it up a little bit. So I started to add some inserts of a striped fabric, and considered to add some buttons. Obviously, this little project got out of hand and became a massive revamp with lots of sewing. I actually enjoyed the process, cutting the shirt, then picking some fabric strips and creating an interwoven pattern. I even asked some friends to donate any buttons from their sewing boxes to the project!. Concerning embellishments, it's always worth to be overdone. So this shirt could receive some painting, more buttons or whatever!.
I've worn my 'new' shirt in a pretty conventional ensemble. Not my usual style, but I'll come back to my colourful self soon!

The street scenes and trees are gorgeous but that decontructed shirt is stealing the show, it's sensational and looks brilliant with those rather chic skinnies! xxx

Oh, wow, I love what you've done with the skirt - the weaving fascinates me! Hooray for totally time-intensive projects! Those chestnut trees are amazing - we have ginormous ones here too! My grandad called the spike of flowers a "candle."
