The temperatures have plummeted since the last heatwave, so we have had 40ºC one day and 20ºC the next ones (which I personally prefer!). Anyway, this abrupt change feels strange, as we're supposedly in full summer now. Well, it was also quite strange having a heatwave on May.
Obviously these weather conditions have been welcomed by some of us, who prefer not having to switch on the air conditioning in order to sleep a few hours (don't judge me, I can't deal with 30ºC midnight). It's also lovely to add some interesting layers when dressing up, instead of wearing same lightweight clothes with minimal accessorizing day after day. Totally first world problems anyway.
I took a break from blogging too, because I've been feeling tired, particularly after some hectic mornings at work. We're in full peak season in the office, so sometimes I have not the energy to sit at the computer after work. Even if I've missed my blogging activities (and You!), having a screen-free time feels good. And it's swimming pool season!
These are two of my heatwave outfits (sorry for the crap mirror selfies). The turquoise culottes are these ones only shortened, as I was not feeling them anymore. Happier with them now.
The red-coral dress is becoming a horsework in my heatwave capsule. It doesn't need ironing!. It was purchased at eBay (second hand) last year.
Another heatwave outfit that I wore to go for a walk and a beer at a terrace. We felt miserable after days hiding from heat at home, so went for a walk after diner. It was ten in the evening when I took this photo, and 33ºC, if you're interested.
The blue dress came from a second hand stall at Sunday street market on July 2019 and I've worn it many times, so it's looking a little bit tired now (but still wearable, I hope). The sandals by Chiruca are new from an outlet shop. And I painted my toenails in red for the first time in my life!.
Saturday morning was rainy, but we went out and ran errands anyway. I wore this (second hand) Zara orange blouse and some trousers acquired in Festa years ago (fast fashion worn slow!). Orange sneakers by Reebok outlet. Usual straw bag from Etsy (years ago).
It's cherries seasons and these trees near the river show it clearly!. I took some photos when going for a walk through the city parks, as I enjoy particularly those paths under the trees.
My balcony pots are also hiding from the sun these days!
Business as usual will be back soon!.
Yay for the red toenails; lovely! I loved all your heatwave outfits and accessories; the last dress was particularly fabulous with the blue bag - what a wonderful match. I'm sorry you've had such contrasts in the weather but as you say the cooler weather allows for layering for which are the queen. Your balcony pots are looking fab!

Love the toes - I only started wearing red nail paint during lockdown - it feels strangely grown-up after a lifetime of blue, green and black!
ResponderEliminarYour hot weather dressing looks brilliant even if you aren't feeling it. I'm counting the days till I can sit out in nighttime temperatures of 33°C (I know I'm a freak!) xxx
I don't envy you those heatwave temperatures, Monica! We had to pack for our holiday at 35°C (with the next day the temperature going down to just 10°C) and as for sleeping at 30°C, that's quite impossible, isn't it. Still loving your heatwave outfits. I particularly love that blue floral dress, but your final outfit, the black floral trousers with the tiered blouse, is my favourite! Besos xxx
ResponderEliminarYou've never had red toes? That surprises me! I love your red dress...well, I love all your dresses! We have had one hot day so far - it's been a cold and miserable spring, and summer is not looking much better. Can't complain (much) though, as it means our wildfire season will hopefully not be as devastating.
