Winter Week

The days seem to fly, as I've been busy at work (starting a new year involves a lot of mundane tasks) and also got myself into some outstanding tasks at home (minor repairs, furniture fixing). No thrilling projects, but lots of time and energy invested!
Anyway, I've managed to take some photos of my outfits, even if there's nothing new to show. I'm totally into shopping my own wardrobe and rewearing my clothes (which is nothing extraordinary in my book). January sales are here again, and my tip to make the most of sales is invest in quality durable pieces, particularly coats and winter boots. As I don't need any of them, I've gone for the second best investment and acquired some underwear, socks and sensible clothing. It's something that grannies would recommend you to take advantage of sales: Sensible shopping!.

This is what I wore to run errands on Tuesday, when I asked Mr.A. to take a photo of me behind the cathedral (pretending to be tourists again!). We (still) haven't had really cold temperatures, so I wore this short sleeved orange top under my coat. Orange top came from Sunday street market (second hand), trousers from a clearance sale, coat was shopped retail last year (label Sophiacurvy). Orange sneakers by Reebok (outlet). Pendant was a present by Mom. Usual bag by Emily The Strange (ancient!).

I wore this same dress twice in a row last week, no shame. It can be styled differently, around the colours in the print, but I usually pick red and black. It's a real workhorse, so this is a flashback about it (since I shopped it in January sales 2014, don't remember where!).

Orange is the new orange!. This is a wrapped skirt I made of an old bed cover (after dying it deep orange), same top as above and a second hand orange cardi. Camper shoes, usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal and my (second hand) shearling coat. Necklace was a present and earrings by Silvereira.

Have a fabulous week!.

  2. Yes to shopping one's closet and rewearing things. And yes to sensible shopping in the sales, when it's all too easy to succumb to fads!
Your outfits are making my heart sing, and definitely brighten up the string of grey and rainy days we've been having here.
Orange is the new orange indeed! I'm absolutely loving your first outfit, which is a symphony of black, white and orange. Also loving the dress you wore twice in a row - something I often do too, particularly in Winter - and its flashback over the years.
My favourite, however, is the final outfit, which is a real stunner. I'm a big fan of bed cover or curtain couture, and this skirt is absolutely fabulous! Besos xxx

  4. What a versatile dress that is! Every photo of it looked different - that's your clever accessorising. I love the orange top with the trousers and with the dyed skirt. I hear your 'sensible' advice about underwear; I need new bras urgently!

Have a great week. We're freezing here at the moment...
