It's been a long time since my last post, for no particular reason other than procrastination (totally mastering it!). I managed to keep myself away from computer by doing all kind of mundane tasks (not bad as I finally repaired some stuff which was in my mending pile for ages).
However you can blame crochet for my absence, as it has become an addiction!. Actually I can't stop myself looking at patterns and wools and starting new projects. Actually, I have to restrain myself from shopping more wool; that stuff takes up a lot of space in my crafty room (and in my mind). Crocheting can help with anxiety problems as it keeps you focused and creative, but not so much if overdoing it. If you've never crocheted or knitted, probably you'll be amazed to know they're creative activities that involve lots of maths.
As the weather improved for some days, it looked like summer was here, but suddently we were back into (a chilly) Spring. Which means temperatures can go from 2ºC in the early morning to 25ºC, and again 15ºC as soon as sun sets (alliteration!). Not easy to dress up for the day, but also completely normal Spring weather here. Been there, done that. Layering to the rescue!
We had a short week at work as Monday was a holiday bank (only locally). I picked something comfy and colourful to start my week at work on Tueday, it's good to get off to a good start. I wore same coat everyday, as this green trench matches anything and is so damn comfy and practical. It's also waterproof, even if it had not the opportunity to exercise this quality for months. Drought is becoming a real problem and water shortage is something to worry about.
My joyful tunic was shopped retail years ago (label Antica Sartoria), trousers CandA (old), sneakers by Adidas outlet, scarf was a present by Mom. Striped t-shirt by CandA (old). Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal (old)
I wore same dress twice in a row, nothing new, as a repeat offender. Only changed some accessories, but kept a similar colour combo. Love some orange and turquoise and teal.
Dress was shopped at CandA two years ago, tights by Snag, shoes by Camper. Earrings came from a local retailer Eme
Nothing new to comment on this outfit, as I've worn it many times, both in the summer and in the winter, as it layers nicely. Skirt and jacket were purchased second hand at Sunday street market. Skirt was made of a dress, actually. Sneakers by Nike outlet (old).
I was looking forward to wearing my last crochet creation!. This colourful cardi was (not exactly) made using a pattern acquired at Katie Jones, but it's thicker than model (and obviously, I had to pick my own riot of colours). Anyway, my next one will be another Katie Jones' pattern, they're lovely (Not Sponsored).
This cardi-coat is bringing lots of colour and a summery vibe into my wardrobe, and it can be expected to become an esential piece this season!. Trousers were shopped retail years ago. Turtleneck by LaRedoute (old). Sneakers by Nike outlet (old).
Zapatillas Nike outlet. Cuello vuelto de LaREdoute.
Next day I wore a similar outfit, only more 'sporty', to go for my usual Sunday walk through street market and surroundings. I shopped a loaf of (artisan) rye bread and was also lucky to find a polyester dress which will be fine in the winter months (now it's taking usual treatment in the freezer).
This oversized denim jacket was acquired a month ago at that same street market (it was 2€). Trousers and sneakers as before. Striped pullover by PuntRoma (old). Scarf was charity shopped. Bag was a retail find but I added a different strap (I've noticed this kind of bag straps are trendy now, I acquired mine at a local business.)
This small repair has been waiting for my attention for months. I own some (really useful) nylon bags whose neoprene handles were worn out. So I shopped some fabric at a local haberdashery and sewed some new (padded) handles. Not rocket science, but my bags are now ready to go shopping groceries.
Have a fabulous week!
Oh my goodness! How fantastic is your new crochet cardi? IT looks amazing and has your signature gay colours. Crochet can be very addictive, I agree. Sadly I've lost my crochet mojo but I'm hoping it may come back by the winter when it's good to have something warm and crocheted on your lap while you crochet away. I have never made crochet clothing; only baby clothes for my daughter (which was got me into crocheting in the first place) and once I made my mum-in-law a crocheted jumper.
ResponderEliminarI loved all your colourful outfits and accessories; the first top is so pretty and looks lovely on you...
I am hoping for warmer weather soon so I can put the winter clothes away!

That cardi is amazing! Hooray for Katie Jones and her tutorials! It's about time i did another one. Jon was telling a friend yesterday about how crochet had calmed me down and I was a lot more chilled since I learnt! It does make a huge difference, I know.
ResponderEliminarLoving your turquoise hued outfits, a proper injection of Spring. Well done on sorting out those bag handles. Doesn't it feel good to tick off those annoying tasks? xxx
Crochet is the perfect excuse for not posting, especially if the result is that spectacular cardi! If crocheting helps with anxiety, it is high time that I learned! Will have to ask my bestie to teach me.
ResponderEliminarLoving your fabulous and colourful outfits, as always, and you did a cracking job fixing those bag handles! Besos xxx
Me encanta tu estilo. Felicitaciones por tu chaqueta de ganchillo. Besos.
ResponderEliminarIt is always worth waiting for your posts. Good to see you!
