Spring Says Goodbye

We have not had any Spring as it was used to be, but finally it's raining, storms are forming every evening, even if torrential rain is not the better thing on a dry soil. The weather is becoming a trendy topic of conversation, as many people are worried about their orchards and vegetable gardens (and vineyards, obviously) as they provide significant income. From a selfish point of view, I'm worried too as a huge fan of local cherries and peaches. Hoping for the best!

Orange looked like a good idea to cheer up my Monday. So I wore this second hand top which is the one and only cloth by Zara I own (quite good quality, still looking good despite some heavy use and frequent washing). Trousers by Festa (old). Sneakers by Reebok outlet. Usual cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Necklace was a present, ages ago.

I wore this self-sewed trousers twice in a row, and also repeated a similar colour combo. Black blouse was a second hand find at Sunday street market. Yellow cardi from eBay (years ago). Sandals by Yokono (last year). Some home-grown vintage jewellery. A sarong as a scarf by LaRedoute (old). Cork bag by Fine Cork Portugal. Next day I picked a yellow top by CandA (years old) and that hand-me-down jacket (probably a 90's piece, it came from a friend's wardrobe). Yellow straw bag was shopped retail, years ago.

Back to usual colourful style, I wore my crochet cardi-coat and second hand floral trousers. Self-sewed top was previously a tunic (I've shortened some tunics, as I was needing tops to go with trousers). Sneakers by Adidas outlet. Necklace was charity shopped. Earrings acquired at local retailer Eme.

Zapatillas Adidas outlet. Collar de una tienda solidaria. Pendientes de la tienda local de Eme.
Another day, another colourful combo!. As my days at work have become hectic, I try to pick comfy outfits. Tunic was custom made (at a local business) years ago. Red trousers shopped at a clearance sale (not the best quality, I've had to mend them! twice!). Scarf from a charity market.

As the weather is so 'properly spring', it's quite hot in the mornings (28ºC), so it's time to wear summer clothes!. That dress is Brand New, shopped at PuntRoma some weeks ago, and the first new dress I've acquired in years. Not that I need more clothes, but summer can make your wardrobe (and yourself!) feel exhausted, so I hope that this new dress will refresh my 'heatwave capsule'.
Sandals by Chiruca (old). Straw bag from Etsy, years ago. Earrings acquired at local retailer Eme (matchiness!)

Saturday morning is usually a relaxing time, we run errands and then have our usual apéro at local tabernas. Not particularly picturesque alley, but that's Real Life!

Have a fabulous week!

  1. The rain on the continent has been making the news this week, I hope it avoids the UK, we've had more than our fair share this year!
Lovely to see one of my favourite dresses (the maxi in the last photo) and those glorious self-sewn trousers, they look amazing with the buttercup yellow and the pinstripes. The crochet cardi makes my heart sing and that ruffled orange top is wonderful. Of course you had to buy that dress - it's fabulous. I always justify buying something new by telling myself that's its for the next generation - if we wear our secondhand clothes until they fall apart they'll be nothing in the charity shops and junk shops in twenty years time. xxx

  2. It's been a strange Spring, that's absolutely true, and now the weather here has skipped from early Spring to early Summer in only a couple of days ..
It's always a sight for sore eyes to see your colourful attire. The orange Zara top and floral trousers is a delight, as are both outfits with your repeat offender self-sewn trousers. I totally approve of your new dress, which I'm sure you'll be wearing for many Summers to come. And did I spy my favourite dress of yours in that last photo? Besos xxx

  3. Orange is a colour that suits you beautifully and I loved the orange ruffled top with the floral trousers. I loved all of your outfits; colourful, fun and quirky. I loved your newly purchased dress; the style, the colours and the pattern are so very you. Your crocheted long line cardigan is fabulous.

Hope your weather settles down into something appropriate for the time of year. I think today marked the beginning of some truly summer weather here - at last!

  5. Comfy is definitely the best choice for work. Your new dress is fab, and that necklace goes so well with the print.

I've been watching the weather in Spain, and really hoping you all get the rain you need. It looks so worrying, especially in Andalucia.
