Last heatwave lasted a week and kept most people secluded at their homes, as it was too hot to stay outdoors even in the evenings. Obviously, it was impossible to sleep (without air conditioning) when temperature was around 30ºC in the night and this was the principal theme of conversation: the heat, the best ways to keep it away, the air conditioning vs fan, the irritability and exhaustion. Sorry, but I didn't feel like taking photos of my heatwave capsule.
I'm glad that we've returned to 'normal' summer conditions, so social life is possible, also running errands, going for a walk or even sitting on a terrace (the good side of summertime!). You know, my life is so wild!
I went to have a blood test on Monday, so I wore a cardi as it was 7:30 in the morning and my cotton gauze dress is really lightweight. It's becoming a challenge to dress up for the day when we have a temperature of merely 12ºC in the morning and then it increases to the 30ºC. Layering to the rescue!.
After having my blood test, Mr.A. took me to have breakfast at a (posh) café and then I ran to work. And my cardi was into my bag the rest of the morning as temperatures increased. Dress by PuntRoma, sandals by Chiruca outlet.
Another layered outfit to go to work. Self sewed trousers, revamped blouse (second hand) and my seasonable crochet cardi. That cross body bag and bag strap were both retail shopped.
We had some rain too, and I wore my Seasalt jacket (only in the morning). That (second hand) striped blouse is a little bit classic for my style, but so comfy and I love its texture, so it's a keeper. Trousers were retail shopped. Sneakers by Adidas outlet (old). Vintage enamel brooch. Scarf was a present by Mom. Earrings from Eme.
I wore my recently acquired black trousers again, so comfy and they even have pockets!. Jacket and blouse were both second hand finds. (Vintage) necklace, a present by my friend M. for my birthday. Some pins shopped at a local business (a glass of red wine and a pincho!, typically local!), and a badge from a taberna we use to visit (yes, it's a cat wearing a beret).
We've had a lousy couple of weeks, with under-par temperatures and lots of rain. But guess what, we've got a heatwave coming up next week! You'll probably laugh as here in Belgium this means our day-time temperatures are in the high twenties :-) Still a bit too hot for me though, but on the upside: we'll be on holiday!
ResponderEliminarLoving all your colourful outfits as usual, but that first dress and your crochet cardi have really captured my heart!
Have a great week Monica xxx
glad the heatwave is gone and the weather bearable now.....
ResponderEliminarhoping for a lovely "indian summer" here!
sitting on a terrace with a glass of wine and watching the world walking by is one of my fav pastimes......
the chrochet cardi is such a good compagnon for your beautiful dress - and for the patterned trousers and blouse too!
i have to wear some wool in the mornings and evenings - but midday its still summer dresses :-D
besos!
Oh that heatwave sounds awful; I'm so glad it's back to 'normal' weather for you. What fabulous outfits. I love the Punt Roma dress; it reminds me of Mexico for some reason and the crochet cardigan goes so well with it as it does with the floral trousers; perfectly colour matched. You do black, white and red outfits so well and now a touch of turquoise as well; you look wonderful! Hope the normal weather continues for you; we have a heatwave on the way apparently.

Heatwaves are the worst! No reason to share your capsule if you don't feel like it. I adore your crocheted cardigan! And your cute pins are lovely - happy birthday!
ResponderEliminarWhat a fabulous array of outfits, that Punt Roma dress is absolutely gorgeous, such vibrant colours and a wonderfully retro print! I love the badge with the cat wearing a beret and, as always, that immensely fantastic crochet cardi!
ResponderEliminarWe're having a heatwave here, I know you and most of your readers hate them but I couldn't be happier! xxx
You look great, so confident and colorful!
ResponderEliminarI kept an eye in the weather in Spain over the summer - the heatwave made me really concerned for the people and wildlife. I'm glad it eased up a bit.
ResponderEliminarI hope your blood test went okay.
