Heatwave #2

Not many outfits to share, because of the damn Heatwave #2 of the Summer. It was not so awful, as it lasted 'only' four days, but I've been secluded every evening (except when I go to the swimming pool right after work, then run home). The hottest day we reached 42ºC and I didn't bother going for a swimm after work even if the pool is just around the corner. Not for me, I felt tired, miserable and despondent the whole time. Then the weather changed into more bearable temperatures of 25-27ºC and I felt totally coming back to live, immediately went for a walk, ran errands and met friends.

Last Saturday morning, we did the groceries shopping (I lead such a wild life) and then stayed at home for the rest of the weekend. I even skipped my visit to the Sunday street market, as it felt uncomfortable because of the mix of crowds and heat. But I've been there on this Sunday (at a merely thirty something temperature), with my friend M., and we had lots of fun and bought some fabulous fabrics which were too cheap to be ignored.

This is an 'office to pool' kind of outfit as it works for both activities. I'm becoming a huge fan of viscose maxidresses, they're so comfy and fresh, and versatile!. That dress came from Vinted, sandals by Chiruca.

My birthday outfit! (that was on 23th July). I wore a favourite dress shopped last year at PuntRoma and my crochet cardi, with some matchy earrings and a new pair of Chiruca sandals. Which felt really comfortable when I shopped them, but gave me a blister even if didn't walk a lot. Totally disspointed, but I will try them again soon (with band aids on).

That has been one of my Heatwave Capsule outfits for ages, and it felts a little bit tired, so probably I'll let it go soon. I've made the most of it, so it's ok.
Linen tunic was acquired at 4x4 (spanish chain store) on July 2018, then revamped it three years ago. Leggings by LaRedoute. Sandals by Chiruca.

Sandalias Chiruca.
A view from my new windows (see the works here), not very interesting as we keep our awning down most of the day. I took a photo of the thermometer outside and it marked 37ºC. That's a great reason to invest in efficient windows and install an awning too.

Ending as it started, wearing same turquoise trousers and same cardi-vest. Repeat Offender of the week!. That's what I wore on Friday when the temperature plummeted and even rained!. Glad we're having some respite from the heat!

Have a fabulous week!

  1. We only had +40°C once, a couple of years ago, and I hope we'll never have such temperatures again. I totally get that you felt tired, miserable and despondent!
I love the trousers and top you wore to go to the street market with your friend, and you are totally rocking your new hat! The viscose maxi is gorgeous and looks absolutely perfect for a heatwave. And oh my, isn't your birthday outfit a stunner? xxx

  2. Oh, I know how energy sapping the high temperatures are and feel for you. Loved all the colourful and beautifully accessorised outfits you wear. Such a shame about the new sandals causing blisters but you'll soon wear them in. You always have such fab sandals in fab colours. You have the same birthday as my brother, Mark. Happy belated birthday greetings to you!
